Hey guys.

Ya I will look into why sleep mode doesn't work.

About the gui :

It is a lot faster now, even with music and the 3d cube demo enabled. So having the boxart thing wouldn't be a performance hit.

But yeah, speed is the main concern for now at least, and some bug fixing.

The problem is the Media Engine, to look this:

Thanks for the link thats a good read there.

I'm puzzled why so many want sleep mode on this emu. It only takes a few seconds to savestate then exit
then sleep mode on XMB is how i do it if i need to suddenly quit playing.

Can you attach a function, that the screen goes off, if you do nothing. For example in Sim City it would be useful.
I´m sorry for my bad grammar.

@ b2k24: it kind of sucks when u get small breaks, to have to load up the snes emu, load up the game, load up the save state...so much more convenient to just flip the switch and keep playing :P

thanks for addressing the sleep issue!!!

but no superscope/mouse? D: itd be easy enough to control it via the joypad just like zsnes uses teh mouse :o

Well, one of the best things i like about current generation handhelds, is the ability to play instantly. Just turn it on and your are back in the action. Very useful, when you have only a short brake to play. In such times absence of sleep mode support become annoying. So i also vote for sleep mode support! ^_^

I heard that there was some bug in the previous SNES9xTYL where the CPU clock would only run at 300Mhz no matter what you actually set it at. Is that fixed in this version? If not, fixing it may be a way to gain a small speed up.

Can anyone confirm whether or not settings are saved on a game-by-game basis? I know there's a global default, but if you just load a game with circle, will it remember your previous settings? I'd test this myself, but I won't have access to my PSP for awhile. If not, that's a feature that I'd like to request.

Settings are saved per game basis if they are changed from default settings.
It creates a file in PROFILES folder.

Request: Make it open source, so I can spend my 'I don't have a job' days optimizing... Well, I need to get into the structure of the code first..! :) :D

I've read the thread about Media Engine and trouble with implementing sleep mode support using it. If it will be not easy to add sleep mode, then please make two new setting in the GUI: auto load last rom and auto load last save. Coupled with intro removal these 3 will take emulator close as possible to sleep mode.

I would like to see:

1. use of the vlf library for the menu so that the emu looks like sony made it

2. working sleep mode would be nice I guess.. then people can stop asking for it, seeing as how its been an issue for a few years now

3. Use the SNES9x 1.51 base instead of the 1.42

4. KEEP THAT INTRO SCREEN GONE!! Screw team tyl! they were asshats that never put any support into their work, they begged for money from everyone all the time(even INSIDE the emulator itself, and FORCED you to agree with them every 4th time you turned the emulator on!!!), they refused to help anyone with anything on their site, promised all sorts of updates (including but not limited to the implementation of SNES9x1.51 and working sleep mode) and then refused to deliver because they were pissed off that people were interested in helping them. I appreciated their work, and lots of people visited their site, only to be insulted, and turned away by the worst attitudes imaginable.

In fact you should remove any and all mentions of them in the emulator because they started in 2005, quit in 2006 and since then it's been worked on by Chilly Willy, CaptainShoe, Rukka, and now yourself.

call it CCRZ or something else, and yea...

Keep it up!

Of course before going to sleep mode you automatically write a savestate, stop emulation, stop the ME, uload the rom and go to standby,
then on wakeup you auto load the rom again and load the savestate. I don´t think it would take more than a few seconds.

Also there is a really nice game called Shiren the Wanderer (Fushigi no Dungeon 2: Fūrai no Shiren) that has SRAM issues
that were fixed in other versions of snes9x for PC like snes9xpp.

It was discussed on the snes9xtyl forums

And thanks for working on the snes emu again :)

I think it would be pretty cool if you could add an option to the new GUI which will allow us to rate our games (out of 5 stars).

My reasoning is that sometimes with a lot of roms it becomes difficult to remember which ones you played and liked versus which ones you hated. I feel that a ratings system would be useful for classification and organization purposes. Would that be something that would be possible to implement?

Please note those who have asked for change about the gui should head over to this thread:

and if you like to know more about the mind behind this new gui head here:

I have an infinitely better idea. Just track the numbers a rom has been launched and provide an option to sort them according to that. So you get the games you play most at the top !

I think it's easier for the gui and the coding.

In fact this is so awesome, that I'm gonna post it in the GUI thread, too ! :-D

Can you please remove the save-blocker if batterie is low? In TYL you can´t save is batterie lower then 30 minutes. I think it´s ok, if you cant save, if the batterie have power for only 2 minutes.
I´m sorry for my bad grammar.
